How to get there: Driving on the
AL-5405 (GR-5405) between Escullár and Canilés, turn on a road
signposted to "Area Recreativa Bastidas,
2km". You find this road 400 meters from the kilometer pole K34 and
600 meters from the kilometer pole K35. Instead of 2 km, drive 3.3 km
pass the road to Cortijada Bastidas until you reach the recreation area
on the left hand side of the road. (Roadmap)

| Cross the creek
that you see from the parking
place of the recreation area, and take the path with a white arrow to
the left (1185 m). The path ascends through a pine forest to the
ruins
of a building (18 min) (1290 m). By the ruins you find white arrows that
lead you pass the building to a slope. The path descends to the water
front of the river where you meet another group of white arrows (34min) (1205 m).
After crossing the river, follow the
path which soon leads you cross the
river again (39min) (1210 m).
When the path forks, a white arrow guides you uphill to the left (41min) (1215 m). You walk on the right hand side of the gorge which you cross later on (55min) (1310 m). Parts of the path are lined by logs. On top of the ridge (1h05min) (1370 m), the white arrows are accompanied by piles of stones. You encounter a junction with white arrows to both directions (1h21min) (1480 m). Turn right and follow the signs for "Mirador de Bastidas" and "Circuito del Cerro Panizo". When the path forks (1h30min) (1460 m), go right to visit the lookout spot of Bastidas. It takes some four minutes to get there. Return back to the fork (1h37min) and continue to the right. At the next fork, a white arrow leads you to the left (1h44min) (1460 m). Again you come to a junction with arrows to both directions (1h58min) (1510 m), and again, you go right. The path ascends to a track (2h05min) (1535 m) where you find three information panels. Follow the "Floranes" sign to the right. In a couple of minutes you reach the cottage of Floranes (1545 m). Start your return route by taking the same path which took you to the track. When a path signposted to "Bastidas" forks off right (2h15min) (1480 m), follow it back to the fork (2h50min) (1215 m) where you go on to the right back to the water front and to the recreation area (3h30min). |
