How to get there: Driving
on the A-4132 turn on the A-4129 signposted to Capileira and Bubión.
After 4 kilometres you arrive in Capileira. Keep driving uphill some 2.7 km
more till you see a signpost to Poqueira
Central on the left hand side of the road. Follow this sandroad some 3.8
km to the parking place of Cebadilla. (Roadmap)

| Walk from the parking place along the road
downhill. After you have crossed a bridge, you find signposts. The route
begins here
(1510 m). Do not bend left, but ascend towards the electricity
plant. By
the plant, the road curves right. Soon you meet an information panel on
the route (5min) (1540 m). Take the path that starts by the panel. It
forks almost immediately Go left uphill. At the next fork with signposts (43min) (1710 m), continue to the left following the sign for Sendero del Toril.
When the path forks (54min) (1800 m) follow the blue circle to the left on a bridge over pipelines. In a couple of minutes, the path forks again. Go right. You cross a bridge (1h09min) (1870 m) and encounter the first stone cottage (1h15min) (1900 m). The path goes by the wall of the cottage westwards. Lined by rose bushes the route passes many stone cottages and crosses a couple of brooks. On the opposite slope of the Poqueira gorge you see the return route. The path ascends gently to the upper part of the gorge where you cross the river Toril (1h45min) (1920 m). On the other side of the gorge, a wide path ascends gently by the side of a canal that is first covered but becomes later open (2h32min) (1870 m). The views are dominated by... When the path forks (2h38min) (1870 m), follow the green circle downhill to the left. You come to a track (2h57min) (1710 m). Turn left. At the next junction (3h10min) (1575 m), turn left again. The track descends back to the beginning of the route.(3h16min). |
