How to get there: Drive on the LU-701 to Fonsagrada, where you follow the sign for Vilardíaz to the LU-740. After 17.5 km you arrive in the village of Vilardíaz and follow the sign for Pontenova straight ahead to the LU-P-1904. Drive 200 m on the LU-P-1904 to a large information panel presenting the route "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" opposite to a school building. (Roadmap)

Follow the sign for "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" to a path (615 m). When it forks, keep right. You cross the LU-740 to a narrow asphalt road with the sign for "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" (5min) (625 m). Straight after that the sign for "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" guides you right. The asphalt road turns into a track (8min) (630 m), which starts to descend through a lovely forest.

Later you branch off right by an information panel on this route following again the sign for "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" to a path (34min) (530 m), which zigzags downhill.

When you come to an asphalt road (52min) (390 m), turn right as indicated by the sign. Next the sign guides you to the left to another path (57min) (430 m).

Once you reach the river Veiga de Logares (1h02min) (390 m) you can sit down by a beautiful stone table, before you continue on the path by the river. Now the path goes up and down. Almost all the time you can admire the river rushing over stones and trunks.

By the next stone table you enjoy a nice view (1h20min) (430 m). From this lookout spot, you descend along stone steps and a path to a fork (1h53min) (435 m), where a white-yellow waymark guides you to the left to the water front. From now on you pass several small cascades forming beautiful ponds.

Later the route bends away from the river to a fork (2h20min) (495 m), where you follow the sign for "Sendeiro de Peña Guimara, PR-G 139" to the left towards Romeán. At the junction (2h25min) (500 m), go first left to visit ruins of an ancient population (Castro y Núcleo de Romeán) by following the white-yellow waymarks from the corner of a wooden building in Romeán up to the right along a path until a white-yellow cross signifies that you have to turn back from the ruins (2h31min) (525 m).

Return to the junction and continue straight ahead following the sign for "Iglesia de San Martín" to an asphalt road (2h43min) (565 m), where this sign guides you to the left. Directly after this, you branch off right to the church of San Martín (2h45min) (550 m). From the church, you take a path, which comes to a track (2h51min) (550 m). Follow the sign for "Covas de Vilardíaz" to the right.

When you come to a fork (2h58min) (510 m), the sign for "Covas de Vilardíaz" guide you to the left, to a path. At the junction (3h04min) (555 m), turn left. the path ascends to the caves (3h11min) (580 m) and continues to the LU-P-1904 (3h18min) (610 m). Turn right and return to the beginning of the route (3h19min).
