How to get there: Driving on the A-2302 you find three income roads into Benaocaz. Take the middle one, about 300 meters from the kilometre pole K15 towards Villaluenga del Rosario. By the road you see a bus stop and a large information panel on a route from Tarifa to Athens. On the opposite side of the road you see a small wooden sign for "GR7 Ubrique". The route starts here. (Roadmap)

Distance: 2h/7km

By the sign (770 m) you find a descending path that becomes paved with stones somewhat further on. After crossing a brook (7min) (725 m), you turn right following the sign, and continue through a gate downhill. The path turns into an ancient Roman road. In front of you rises La Silla and on your left the Sierra del Caíllo.

Again you walk through a gate (14min) (660 m) and keep going down towards Ubrique. On your way you can observe the Roman construction skills. The stone paved road is lined by a canal into which the water running down along the mountain slopes was lead along the drains crossing the road. In some places the road is still lined by a stone wall.

You go through one more gate (19min) (615 m) before you see Ubrique in the valley (34min) (540 m).

The road passes an information panel on this route (47min) (465 m) and slopes down to Ubrique (1h). You can continue to the town center along the Camino de Benaqocaz.

Return on the same way back to Benaocaz (2h).
