How to get there: Drive on
A348a to
Laujar de Andarax. From the eastern side of the village starts a narrow
asphalt road signposted to Nacimiento. Follow this road to the north
some 1.4 km to the recreation area, where you find two information
panels showing plants and animals side by side. By the panels is a
parking place. (Roadmap)

| Cross a bridge with handrails by the
panels (950m) and climb uphill on a steep path with white-yellow
waymarks. When you meet another path, turn right (5min) (995 m). This
wide path zigzags through a pine forest before becoming less steep. Soon
an impressive rockwall . A wide fire break opens up the views
(37min) (1160 m). When you encounter a house on your right, bend left following a white arrow (44min) (1250 m). The path ascends to a sand road (50min) (1270 m). Turn right and follow the road until you meet another road (1h) (1230 m). Turn right again.Peñón Blanco rises in front of you. Also in the next junction (1h06min) (1175 m) you go right. Reddish rockwalls of the Andarax gorge begin to follow the route on your left. Little by little the road becomes narrower. After the first bridge (1h34min) (1040 m) Andrax river follows the route on the right hand side. You cross the river two more times, before reaching the information panels of the recreation area (2h). |
