How to get there: Driving on the
A-92N take the exit number 324 towards "Parque Natural Sierra de
Baza" and turn right following the sign for "Centro de Visitantes
Narváez". After some 700 meters bend left according to the
signpost. Drive some 5.4 km further to the tourist center. By the
building
"Aula de la Naturaleza", keep left, and turn right a little
bit further. The sand road ends by wooden
cottages, where you find a
parking place and an information panel. (Roadmap) Distance: 1h10min/4km |
| Start from the information panel on the "Sendero del Mirador de
Narváez" by following the concrete path to the right (1360 m). The
path takes you to the Taza fountain (6min)
(1370 m). Soon after the
fountain, it forks
(7min) (1370 m). Go left. The path follows a gorge and ascends to a
track (19min) (1390 m). The route crosses this track to another track,
but before you continue, visit the lookout spot by turning left on the
track. It takes some five minutes to reach the spot, where you
enjoy views to the highest mountain of the nature park, the Calar de Santa
Barbara, and to the tourist
center.
Return from the lookout spot back to the crossroads (29min) and
continue along the track that bends left downhill. Do not take the sand
road that runs on the right hand side of the track. After the bend you
have a nice view over the valley. When you come to a T-junction (45min)
(1275 m),
turn left. In one minute, you reach another T-junction. Again,
turn left. Later on, the
track bends right and crosses a creek (1h)
(1320 m).
When the tourist center peeps through the trees on your left, fork
off left (1h07min) (1350 m). The track turns into a concrete path
that takes you back to the parking place (1h10min). |
