Distance: 3h/12.5km

At El Cable (1850 m) you find a balcony with views to the Cantabrian mountain range and to the valley.

Start by taking the track with white-yellow waymarks, and signs for the "PR-PNPE 23" and "PR-PNPE 24". The track ascends gently to the pass of Horcadina de Covarrobres (15min) (1930 m), where you follow the sign for "Horcados Rojos" to the left. Looking down from the pass, you see the Puertos de Áliva and the Cortés mountain on the background.

Walking ahead you pass the lagoons of Lloroza, most of them dry in the summer.

In La Vueltona (31min) (1940 m), the white-yellow waymark guides you to the right, to a stony path snaking its way upwards between gray bolders. During the ascent, you can admire the towering rock pillars and the peaks of Picos de Europa.

When the path forks (58min) (2220 m), go left. After a while, the path dips down along the slope of the Torre de los Horcados Rojos, before it starts ascending again (1h06min) (2210 m). At the next fork (1h14min) (2270 m). you can go first left to visit the cottage of Veronica (1h25min) (2315 m), with nice views to Pico Tesoreron, Torre de los Horcados Rojosin and Torre del Hoyo Oscuron.

Return then back to the fork (1h40min) (2270 m) and follow the white-yellow waymarks uphill along a winding path to the Pass of Horcados Rojos (1h51min) (2345 m). Looking north, you see the Jou de los Boches and the Naranjo de Bulnes on its background. In the west, you see the cottage of Veronica. In the east, the valley is bordered by La Morra and Tiros Navarro. The peaks of Arenizas rise in the nortwest.

The waymarked route ends in the pass, but you can climb to the top of the Torre de los Horcados Rojos.

Return the same way back to El Cable (3h).
