At El Cable (1850 m) you find a
views to the
Cantabrian mountain range and to the valley.
Start by taking the
track with white-yellow waymarks,
and signs for the "PR-PNPE 23" and "PR-PNPE 24". The track ascends gently to the pass of Horcadina de Covarrobres (15min) (1930 m), where you follow the sign for
"Horcados Rojos" to the
left. Looking down from the pass, you see the
Puertos de Áliva and the Cortés mountain on the background.
Walking ahead you pass the
lagoons of Lloroza, most of them dry in
In La Vueltona (31min) (1940 m), the white-yellow waymark guides you
to the right, to a stony path snaking its way upwards between gray
bolders. During the ascent, you can admire the towering rock
the peaks of
Picos de Europa.
When the path forks (58min) (2220 m), go left. After a while, the
path dips down along the slope of the Torre de los Horcados Rojos,
before it starts
(1h06min) (2210 m). At the next fork
(1h14min) (2270 m). you can go first left to visit the
Veronica (1h25min) (2315 m), with nice views to
Torre de los
Horcados Rojosin and
Return then back to the fork (1h40min) (2270 m)
and follow the white-yellow waymarks
along a winding
path to the
Pass of Horcados Rojos
(1h51min) (2345 m). Looking north, you see the
Jou de los Boches and the
Naranjo de Bulnes on its background.
In the west, you see the
Veronica. In the east, the valley is bordered
by La Morra and Tiros Navarro. The peaks of Arenizas rise in the

but you can climb to the top of the
Torre de los
Return the same way back to El Cable (3h).
