By the sign (240 m) starts a
track that passes a house and ascends
above the gorge of Hermida. You enjoy a fine view to the
rock walls of
the gorge. The track turns into a
path (11min) (300 m), which crosses a
couple of gorges, before you encounter arrows guiding you to the right
(23min) (305 m). From this point starts the difficult part, a steep
climb along the bedrock. During the climb, you follow the white-yellow
waymarks. When the steep part is over (29min) (340 m), you bend left.
The alarmingly narrow path runs some 100 meter on the verge of a
precipice, but becomes then very easy.
You walk in a beautiful
oak forest to a fork (35min) (400 m), where
you go left downhill. On your right towers an impressive rock pillar.
The village of Lebeña turns up in the valley (44min) (420 m). The
path
widens to a track (49min), which descends to the
village (1h02min) (260 m). Continue through the village to the
church of Santa Maria de Lebaña
(1h08min) (210 m).
Return on the same way back to the beginning of the route (2h15min)
