How to get there: Driving on the A-92
take the exit number 250 (Viznar). Continue less than 1 km towards
Viznar and turn left towards Alfacar. You reach a roundabout about 50
meters after the junction. Continue straight ahead for less than 1 km
and turn left uphill. After some 200 meters, by a fountain, turn right
to Avenida Murcia, which turns into GR-3101 somewhat later. Follow the
signs for "Centro de Visitantes Puerto
Lobo" which guide you to the left after 1.2 km and to the right
less than 500 meters thereafter. You reach a parking place less than 50
meters before the tourist

| Return along the asphalt road some 50 meters till you find an information panel and a path that forks off
right by
the panel. Take this path marked with a white arrow (1min) (1260 m).
Ibices are quite tame in this nature park. The path leads through a
coniferous forest to a track (20 min)
(1250 m). Turn
right and fork off right on a path with a white arrow (22min)
(1260
m). You have a nice view over the valley.
The path takes you to the dugouts called Trincheras del Maúllo which played an important role in the defense of Granda during the Spanish cilvil war (35min) (1330 m). These dugouts form a labyrinth with lookout spots to Huétor Santillán and other towns of the valley. Return from the dugouts to the track (45min) and continue along it until a path with an arrow goes right (48min) (1260 m). The path ascends to a sand road (49min). Turn left towards the tourist center and return to the parking place (55min). |
