How to get there: Driving on the AS-117 to Rioseco follow the sign for Soto de Agues to the SC-2. After some 3 km you come to a large parking place in the village of Soto de Agues. (Roadmap)

Distance: 3h30min/14.5km

From the parking place (440 m) you follow the sign for "Ruta del Alba". In one minute, you turn right and continue uphill to a fountain located at the southwest corner of the village, where you encounter a sign for "Desfiladero del Alba" (5min) (450 m). Walking on a well signposted concrete road you pass a fish farm (14min) (470 m). Soon the Alba river starts to flow on your left. Lined by chestnut and apple trees the road leads through grazing grounds with pretty cottages and cattle. Ignore the bridge of San Andres de Agues, which leads over the river, and keep on the main road.

Later the pavement ends and you follow the sign for "Desfiladero del Alba" straight ahead (48min) (550 m). When the track forks by a small recreation area (1h08min) (630 m), the sign for "Ruta del Alba" guides you to the right, but before you continue, visit a meadow on your left to marvel at the mountain landscape and a traditional stone cottage.

The track narrows into a wide path which leads to the cleft of Foces de Llaimo. Walking between sheer rock walls you can admire gorgeous water falls and bonds formed by the river. After crossing a couple of old stone bridges the path takes you to the Cruz de los Ríos, where you find the stone cottage of Pastores (1h45min) (785 m).

Return on the same way back to Soto de Agues (3h30min).
