| Start walking from the parking place (995 m)
along a narrow paved road downhill. The road goes under the A-326 (4min)
(985 m) and continues further down lined by reddish rock
walls. You pass
a cave and come to a fork where the pavement ends (9min) (960 m). Go
left and keep left also at the next fork following the sign for
"Mirador Alcantarilla".
From now on deep gorges with creeks dominate the views. On your left
you can discern the creek on the bed of the gorge, but on your right you
can only hear the sound of rushing water. The track turns into a path
that starts ascending to the lookout spot (20min) (960 m).
Views over
the gorges with sheer rock walls are marvellous.
Return back to the fork (30min) and continue on the track that turns
left to the opposite side of the gorge. You see a number of
caves on the
rock wall. You pass a wooden cabin of bird observation (39min) (945 m).
Keep an eye on the right side of the track where you notice a small
stone arch and a path that leads uphill above this arch (50min) (945 m).
Follow this path to the plateau (56min) (980 m). You can freshen up in a
nice hotel and observe
eagles and other birds hovering above the gorge
before returning back to the parking place (1h30min).
